My Interesting EM Topic

MY INTERESTED EM TOPIC

What's this blog about?

This blog is about me talking about an Environmental Management topic I found most interesting in. So get yourselves comfortable and enjoy.
Seriously, why not?
I'll be honest with you, EM isn't exactly my most preferred subject even though people say it's easy. Because, it's not for me. But even though, there are some topics that are quite interesting to me about it. But anyway, let's get to it.

The picture in your right is planet Earth. Okay, that was quite a meaningless sentence because everyone knows what that is. If you don't have any idea what that massive sphere is... Well, I'll just ask you: "What are you doing with your life?"

From out here, this planet seems quite peaceful. It's quite amazing if you think about that this planet provides us everything we need to survive and prosper. It almost seems indestructible. Afcourse, nothing as small as a human can have any effect on this great planet we call home.

However, this isn't quite true. over the past forty years, Earth had lost half of its wildlife. And the forests are constantly getting cut down by the humans. And we're actually getting better and more efficient at it. In other words, the humans are winning. They are also winning against the climate. Due to pollution, humans had actually.... Well, just take a look at this illustration.
This is in 1884. Blue represents temperature cooler than average and Red represents how humans are winning. And below is the Earth at 2014. I could tell you more about it but it would still get worse.
Not only that, the humans are turning the ocean into acid through a process called "ocean acidification". But the worst part is who/why are we doing this. The reason why is our greed. Really! I mean, who just wants to survive if you can have more than that. The whole human population, by the way, can be fit into the state of Texas. So yeah, I guess it's pretty much our greed.

But I'm not saying you're greedy and stuff. It's just that the fact that an average American lifestyle requires at least 24 acres of land. And if you divide that equally to everyone..... We will need 10 planets.

So this is what's my blog about. I want to talk about how we can prevent this and what can we do about it. And remember, this is MY perspective. So feel free to type down in the comment if you disagree or agree or whatever you want to comment about.

What can we do?

Well, we can encourage people to stop polluting and use more energy that produces so little negative effects to the environment. I'm not saying that we should turn off our air conditioners and suffer the heat everyday because what's done is done. The best we can do now is slowing down the process of us destroying our planet until a better solution to this is found.
But how can we motivate people to do these? Like I said before, we are quite greedy. Luckily for us, there is a way. We can make You Tube videos to attract people's attention to do this. You Tube is pretty famous currently too.

Another way is to somehow make a fun video game or simulation to show people how bad Earth can be if we don't mend our ways. Now, I know what you're saying.
But if you DO have some better ideas, type it down in the comments. Anyway, I know that these simulations and video games can cost a lot of money, and if we don't have enough money, we can make a donation campaign if we have to and we can see how many people are actually interested in it and are willing to make the game happen.

But if these doesn't work, I don't know what would. I mean, I'm just a guy. I can't just magically make the Earth a better place. That's why I'm gonna need some help. Maybe I can make a team and we could work together and find a solution to this mess.

But again, it's not that easy. I do quite hope someone would be able to make this world a better place.
